Hi, I’m Laura

Young woman with long blonde hair, wearing a black top, standing in front of a brick wall, looking at the camera with a slight smile.

A senior graphic designer turned community-builder, mom advocate, and the creator of Moms Who Ohio.

For years, I poured my heart into the sports-design world, running my freelance business @lauraschirmerdesign and creating graphics and motion work for organizations like the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Washington Wizards, Barstool Sports, and more. It was fast-paced, exciting, and incredibly fulfilling.

But after experiencing a high-risk pregnancy and a traumatic emergency C-section, my priorities shifted. Stepping away from the sports world wasn’t easy, but it allowed me to focus on healing, motherhood, and finding a new sense of purpose.

That’s when Moms Who Ohio was born — a space dedicated to uplifting moms, supporting mom-owned businesses, and helping families feel connected to the communities around them. What started as a passion project has grown into something meaningful: a trusted guide for Ohio families and a platform that celebrates the women behind so many amazing local businesses.

My hope is simple: to make this season of life feel a little easier, a little more inspired, and a lot more connected.

If you know an incredible Ohio mom or a mom-run business that deserves to be featured, I’d love to hear about her. Let’s keep growing this community together.
